{"id":16218,"date":"2018-03-05T19:55:08","date_gmt":"2018-03-05T19:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/pnr\/?p=16218"},"modified":"2026-02-03T17:44:56","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T17:44:56","slug":"focus-group-for-public-library-workers","status":"archive","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/region_5\/focus-group-for-public-library-workers\/","title":{"rendered":"Focus Group for Public Library Workers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Network of Libraries of Medicine and the Public Library Association are continuing <a href=\"https:\/\/nnlm.gov\/public-libraries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to partner<\/a> with an opportunity for public library staff, both professional and paraprofessional, to participate in virtual focus groups this spring.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the research is to better understand the challenges and rewards of providing health information in public libraries. We are interested in library workers&#8217; questions, experiences, concerns and success stories \u2013 it&#8217;s all useful to us!<\/p>\n<p>The focus groups will happen by telephone and will last 1.5 hours; we are scheduling on all days of the week except Sundays. Audio tapes will be made of the groups and only members of the study team will transcribe these audiotapes. No individual person or library will be identified in the transcripts or publications; individual speakers will be referred to as, for example, \u201cReference Assistant Kansas-1.\u201d Participation will last approximately 1.5 hours.
