{"id":19901,"date":"2021-11-04T11:51:49","date_gmt":"2021-11-04T11:51:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/region_5\/?p=19901"},"modified":"2025-11-19T17:24:47","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T17:24:47","slug":"consumer-health-minute-creating-an-nnlm-user-account","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/region_5\/consumer-health-minute-creating-an-nnlm-user-account\/","title":{"rendered":"Consumer Health Minute: Creating an NNLM User Account"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the great benefits the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) offers, is <a href=\"https:\/\/nnlm.gov\/training\/schedule\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">free professional development<\/a> including consumer health classes.<\/p>\n<p>Classes come in a variety of formats including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On-demand online (learn on your own time at your own pace)<\/li>\n<li>Scheduled asynchronous online (learn on your own time within the class scheduled time)<\/li>\n<li>Live webinar classes<\/li>\n<li>Live webinar series with guest speakers<\/li>\n<li>Special events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will need to have an NNLM User Account to register for a class. This is not the same as being an <a href=\"https:\/\/nnlm.gov\/membership\/join\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">organizational member<\/a> of NNLM.<\/p>\n<p>Why create a User Account? Because:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is easier to register for NNLM classes and webinars<\/li>\n<li>You can keep track of which classes and webinars you register<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Below are steps to creating a user account:<\/p>\n<p>1.) Go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nnlm.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NNLM website<\/a> at <strong>https:\/\/nnlm.gov\/<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2.) Fill in the required sections of the form. The required sections are marked with a red asterisk <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">*<\/span><\/strong>. You should receive an email message asking you to click on a link to create a new password.<\/p>\n<p>3.)
