On February 14th, 2022 from 11 a.m. – noon PST,\u00a0 join Dr. Lisa Federer as she presents an introduction to the NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing which will take effect at the start of next year. Following up nearly twenty years after the publication of the 2003 Final NIH Statement on Sharing Research Data, the NIH addresses the need for open data sharing as the world\u2019s largest funder of biomedical research.<\/p>\n

The new\u00a0Final NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing<\/a>\u00a0replaces the 2003 policy and requires researchers using NIH funds to plan early for research data management, with the expectation that data sharing is a fundamental component of the research process. Dr. Federer will provide her insight and perspective on the new DMSP (data management and sharing policy), comparisons with the 2003 policy, and supporting information that will help librarians stay informed of funder requirements as they work to advise researchers at their institutions.<\/p>\n
