How we experience grief can differ from person to person, from event to event.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to your state and local resources, here are some resources to offer those in your community who may be experiencing grief or know of someone who is. These are not meant to be a substitute for professional help that may be needed but can provide some information and support.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MedlinePlus and NIH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MedlinePlus has a health topic page on Bereavement but using the Search Box in the upper right corner and typing in the word \u201cgrief\u201d is another way to find information on this already vetted resource.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/medlineplus.gov\/bereavement.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bereavement health topic page<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are a few resources available from NIH (National Institutes of Health).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/newsinhealth.nih.gov\/2017\/10\/coping-grief\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coping with Grief, Life After Loss<\/a> (News in Health article)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cancer.gov\/about-cancer\/advanced-cancer\/caregivers\/planning\/bereavement-pdq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grief, Bereavement, and Loss<\/a> (National Cancer Institute)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nia.nih.gov\/health\/grief-and-mourning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grief and Mourning<\/a> (National Institute on Aging)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/safetosleep.nichd.nih.gov\/resources\/infant-loss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grief &amp; Infant Loss Resources | Safe to Sleep\u00ae<\/a> (National Institute of Child Health and Human Development)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SAMHSA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) have several resources including ones specific events. An easy way to find these is to use the search box provided in the upper right corner of the website and type in the word \u201cgrief\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Some of these resources can be shared through email and social media and be downloaded as a handout.
