This single-cohort program will support\u00a0<strong>10 Region 5 members<\/strong>\u00a0with a\u00a0<strong>free MLA CE Passport<\/strong>\u00a0and a shared learning experience running from\u00a0<strong>September 2026 through April 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The MLA CE Passport Cohort is designed for members who are ready to engage deeply with continuing education and share what they learn with their Region 5 community. In addition to receiving one year of CE Passport access, cohort members will take part in a monthly cohort meeting and contribute a reflection for the <strong>Region 5 blog<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Why Participate in the Region 5 CE Passport Cohort?<\/h2>\n<p>Continuing education is an important part of professional growth, but access is not always equal. Many Region 5 members face barriers like limited funding, time, or institutional support. The Region 5 CE Passport Cohort is one way Region 5 is working to reduce those barriers while investing in members who will use the CE Passport meaningfully in their work.<\/p>\n<p>This program is also about community. Cohort members will have the opportunity to share their new knowledge, reflections, and insights with fellow Region 5 members, as well as their institutional community.<\/p>\n<h2>Who can apply?<\/h2>\n<p>The program is open to\u00a0<strong>Region 5 members<\/strong>. You can check if your organization is a Region 5 member with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nnlm.gov\/membership\/directory?region_8%5B1%5D=5\">Member Directory<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>What Cohort members will receive<\/h2>\n<p>Participants will receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A\u00a0<strong>free MLA CE Passport<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>One year of access<\/strong> to the CE Passport<\/li>\n<li>Participation in a\u00a0<strong>monthly cohort meeting<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>An opportunity to share learning through a\u00a0<strong>Region 5 blog reflection<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What Cohort members will commit to<\/h2>\n<p>Because this is a cohort experience, participants will be expected to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend\u00a0<strong>monthly cohort meetings<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Submit a\u00a0<strong>reflection on their experience<\/strong>\u00a0for the Region 5 blog<\/li>\n<li>Use the CE Passport in a meaningful way during their fellowship year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How Cohort members will be selected<\/h2>\n<p>Applications will be reviewed by <b>Region 5 staff<\/b> according to a scored rubric. Selection will prioritize:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Need\/access equity<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mission alignment<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Professional growth<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Sharing back with the community<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>How to apply<\/h2>\n<p>Applications will be submitted through an application form open between <strong>Wednesday, August 12th and Friday, August 21st.<\/strong> Only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be reviewed.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re a Region 5 member who would benefit from increased access to continuing education and would be excited to share your experience with others, we encourage you to apply.<\/p>\n<p>The Region 5 CE Passport Cohort is intended to support members, build connection, and create space for shared learning across Region 5.
