We here at NN\/LM PNR would like to hear those stories, too!<\/p>\n<p>Per a forwarded e-mail message from Mary Langman, MLA&#8217;s Coordinator for Information Issues and Policy:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Your input makes a difference, especially when communicating\u00a0with members of Congress about the\u00a0value of libraries and information programs and services.\u00a0Stories of real life experience are practical\u00a0ways to help Congress understand how Federal investments in\u00a0information services and programs, such\u00a0as <a title=\"PubMed Central\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/\">PubMed Central<\/a>, <a title=\"clinicaltrials.gov\" href=\"http:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/\">ClinicalTrials.gov<\/a>, and <a title=\"MedlinePlus\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/medlineplus\/\">MedlinePlus<\/a>, are\u00a0making a difference in the lives of their\u00a0constituents.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for anecdotal information that describes how\u00a0information accessed from an NLM database or\u00a0repository has made a difference in someone&#8217;s life, in the\u00a0outcome of their health care, has furthered the\u00a0discovery of scientific research, or led to the development of\u00a0innovative programs and services that\u00a0support our nation&#8217;s health information needs.<\/p>\n<p>(The Legislative Task Force) hopes to share this\u00a0information with members of Congress and their staff during the\u00a0spring 2011 Legislative Task Force Capitol\u00a0Hill visits to illustrate how Federal funding and access to\u00a0health information and services furthers our\u00a0nation&#8217;s healthcare reform goals.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Please send your stories to <a href=\"mailto:langman@mlahq.org\">Mary Langman<\/a> by\u00a0February 1, or share them here in the comments.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to Bob Richart, PNC\/MLA&#8217;s Legislative Liaison, for forwarding this request.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Medical Library Association&#8217;s Legislative Task Force would like to know how you have benefited from access to federally funded health information resources such as those provided by the National Library of Medicine.
