{"id":6037,"date":"2012-04-09T15:12:19","date_gmt":"2012-04-09T22:12:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nnlm.gov\/pnr\/dragonfly\/?p=6037"},"modified":"2026-02-03T16:26:02","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T16:26:02","slug":"whats-happening-with-pubmed","status":"archive","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.nnlm.gov\/region_5\/whats-happening-with-pubmed\/","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s Happening with PubMed?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently announced in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/pubs\/techbull\/current_issue.html\">NLM Technical Bulletin<\/a> are several items of interest to PubMed users:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/pubs\/techbull\/ma12\/brief\/ma12_versioning_faq.html\">FAQ about article versions<\/a> in PubMed citations: Certain citations will now be &#8220;versioned&#8221;, depending upon new data findings. The original article will be retained. Criteria not to be considered in defining a version are re-publication of an article, publication stages, and length of time\u00a0after which an update occurs. Read all about it here.<\/li>\n<li>Citation management software and PubMed results:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nlm.nih.gov\/pubs\/techbull\/ma12\/ma12_pm_cite_mgr.html\">PubMed has been updated<\/a> to include the choice &#8220;Citation Manager&#8221; as a destination for search results. This allows creation of a file to download into the software.<\/li>\n<li>PubMed and MyNCBI: It&#8217;s now possible to save citations directly into a MyNCBI Collection, via a new button in the PubMed Abstract view.
