Interested in Applying for Funding from NNLM Region 5? Start here.

NNLM Region 5 provides funding to Region 5 member organizations for programming, outreach, and technology that improves access to health information. On December 13, 2023, Region 5 will post Request for Applications/ Notice of Funding Opportunities for our next round of funding. It’s never too early to begin planning your application. We have four tips to support your application process:

1. Review the Request for Applications (RFA) and Timeline

Pending budget availability, funding opportunities include:

Technology Improvement Award, to increase access to technology, 4 awards, $5,000 each

Outreach & Engagement Award, for programming or special projects, 1 award, $25,000

Timeline:

  • December 13, 2023: Requests for Applications/ Notice of Funding Opportunities posted to NNLM.gov
  • February 14, 2024, 5:00 P.M. Pacific Time: Letters of Intent due
  • April 2, 2024, 5:00 P.M. Pacific Time: Applications due
  • June 1, 2024: Funded projects begin
  • April 2025: Final reports due for funded projects

4. Meet with Region 5 Staff

We highly encourage applicants to meet with Region 5 staff to discuss your idea before submitting an application. This also gives Region 5 staff an opportunity to go over the application requirements with you, and answer questions you have about the award scope or application process.
