The Addict’s Wake Community Screening Award

Posted by on September 27th, 2024 Posted in: Blog, Funding, Outreach

Several thousand overdose deaths occur each year in America with many more persons grappling with one of the most widespread public health crises of our time.

In 2023, 48.5 million people (17.1%) in the U.S, 12 years and older, battled a substance use disorder (SUD).

The award-winning film, The Addict’s Wake, documents one small, tight-knit community picturesque on the outside but hurting on the inside. The film delivers piercing insight and critical perspectives to an issue that impacts communities everywhere across our nation — not just Brown County, Indiana. More importantly the film also offers hope and a way forward.

  • Learn more about the film and watch the trailer here.
  • Watch the recording of “The Addict’s Wake” – Virtual Film Screening and Panel Discussion here.

How can you spread hope and healing?
