I’m thrilled to announce that the GMR has funded the Effingham Public Library<\/a>‘s Mobility for All program!<\/p>\n

Effingham Public Library<\/p><\/div>\n

Description:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Effingham Public Library will partner with the National Network of Libraries of Medicine to provide \u201cMobility for All\u201d a monthly chair yoga training that will provide strengthening exercises that anyone can do as well. During these sessions the Library will offer instruction and free resources from the National Library of Medicine such as\u00a0Exercise & Physical Activity:\u00a0 Your Everyday Guide from the National Institute on Aging, Getting Fit for Life<\/a> <\/em>and Go 4 Life Tip Sheets<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

Goals and Objectives:\u00a0<\/strong>The goals for \u201cMobility for All\u201d are two-fold.\u00a0 First, \u201cMobility for All\u201d will address the prevalence of overweight adults in Effingham County.\u00a0 Second, the project will also combat the continued increase in physical inactivity.<\/p>\n

To meet these goals, Effingham Public Library\u2019s \u201cMobility for All\u201d will host a minimum of 150 participants in training sessions over the 12-month project.\u00a0 Health resources from the National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health will be shared with participants at each session.<\/p>\n
