The Journey<\/em><\/a> is visiting the Greater Midwest Region. No, not the rock band, but the NIH All of Us<\/em> “mobile asset”\u00a0designed to promote, educate, and enroll participants in the research program.<\/p>\n

Do you know about All of Us<\/em>? The NIH All of Us<\/em> Research Program<\/a> is part of the Precision Medicine Initiative. What is precision medicine? Precision medicine is an innovative\u00a0approach to healthcare. It takes into account individual differences in lifestyle, environment, and biology in order to accelerate research, advance medicine, and ultimately improve care, treatment, and prevention for all of us.<\/p>\n

All of Us<\/i>\u00a0is asking one million people to join in the study, and the\u00a0traveling educational experience is one way to engage communities across the country. This summer, the Journey<\/em> is coming to a city in or near you.<\/p>\n

As an NIH\u00a0All of Us<\/em> partner, the NNLM All of Us<\/em> Community Engagement Network (CEN) helps raise awareness of the program, and we depend\u00a0upon our members to help support our mission.<\/p>\n

Whether you are an academic or a public library, consider hosting the\u00a0Journey<\/em>\u00a0or volunteering or exhibiting at an event. The involvement is minimal. The Journey<\/em> team does the work from setting up and tearing down to enrolling participants. They even train volunteers the day-of. Because the Journey<\/em> plans local site visits 60-90 days ahead of its scheduled\u00a0appearance, contact darlene-kaskie@uiowa.edu<\/a> as soon as possible with any questions and to submit your application.<\/p>\n
