What a great time to share with others all the different roles librarians play. This year\u2019s theme will help you cut right to the chase:<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #7c93e6\">Yes, we do that!<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>Throughout my 23-year career in medical librarianship, I have always found it most rewarding to be involved on interprofessional committees and projects. It provides a wonderful opportunity to show clinicians, researchers, administrators, and community members the diverse skills librarians can bring to the table.<\/p>\n<p>At NNLM, we are dedicated to building your skills. We offer a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nnlm.gov\/training\">wide variety of free, high-quality training opportunities<\/a> so that you will be able to respond, \u201cYes, I do that!\u201d when asked to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teach your residents how to conduct more effective searches in PubMed<\/li>\n<li>Quickly locate a public health statistic needed for a grant proposal<\/li>\n<li>Identify flawed or fake health information<\/li>\n<li>Develop a comprehensive data management plan<\/li>\n<li>Use RxNorm to take a more active role on your health IT<\/li>\n<li>Assess health education materials to determine if they are easy-to-read<\/li>\n<li>Help a researcher comply with NIH public access policy<\/li>\n<li>Assist in integrating MedlinePlus resources into your organization\u2019s electronic health record<\/li>\n<li>Find genetic information that is translated to clinical application<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with a community group to design a health promotion program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Take a moment this month to reflect on the diverse work you and your colleagues do, and look for new opportunities to expand your reach.
