We will be posting a new health topic about lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ+) persons and associated sexual and gender minorities each week throughout the month of June.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, starting at the beginning is the very best place to start. Today\u2019s initial post is a review of terminology related to sexual and gender minorities (SGM). If you are a health care provider, an author, an ally, or just coming out yourself, these resources provide key concepts and terms to encourage a respectful dialogue.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"line-height: 2px\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/glaad.org\/reference\/terms\/\">GLAAD Media Reference Guide 11<sup>th<\/sup>Edition<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">\u201cDefinitions were drafted in collaboration with other U.S.-based LGBTQ community organizations and leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul style=\"padding-left: 80px\">\n<li style=\"line-height: 2px\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/glaad.org\/transformhollywood\">TRANSform Hollywood<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 120px\">\u201cStudios and production companies are bringing more people into the creative process, hearing their stories, and creating better films and TV shows because of it.
