We have compiled some resources to help raise awareness and help you provide support for anyone who is breastfeeding or chestfeeding!\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">The Office of Women\u2019s Health offers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.gov\/breastfeeding\/breastfeeding-resources\"><span class=\"s4\">breastfeeding resources<\/span><\/a>, including information on the benefits of breastfeeding, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.gov\/breastfeeding\/breastfeeding-challenges\/common-breastfeeding-challenges\"><span class=\"s4\">solutions for common breastfeeding challenges<\/span><\/a>, support for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.gov\/supporting-nursing-moms-work\"><span class=\"s4\">nursing mothers at work<\/span><\/a>, and specific <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealth.gov\/its-only-natural\"><span class=\"s4\">materials tailored to Black families<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine is a resource for health providers, especially those supporting new parents with medical challenges and\/or babies who\u00a0have medical challenges. Their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bfmed.org\/resources\"><span class=\"s4\">resources page<\/span><\/a> offers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bfmed.org\/protocols\"><span class=\"s4\">protocols<\/span><\/a> that support best practices in breastfeeding medicine, evidence-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bfmed.org\/need-to-know-videos\"><span class=\"s4\">videos<\/span><\/a> as part of the &#8220;What Every Physician Needs to Know&#8221; series, and a collection of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bfmed.org\/parent-handouts\"><span class=\"s4\">parent handouts in multiple languages<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/books\/NBK501922\/\"><span class=\"s5\">LactMed<\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> is a database from the National Library of Medicine that provides evidence-based information on the effects of drugs and other chemicals on breastfeeding mothers. It includes details about drug levels in breast milk, potential effects on lactation and infants, and alternative medications. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">La Leche League is a layperson led nonprofit organization, which provides <a href=\"https:\/\/llli.org\/#\"><span class=\"s4\">support groups<\/span><\/a> in English and Spanish.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">The WIC Breastfeeding Rights page has information on the <a href=\"https:\/\/wicbreastfeeding.fns.usda.gov\/your-breastfeeding-rights\"><span class=\"s4\">legal rights of breastfeeding parents<\/span><\/a>, including protections for breastfeeding in public and for pumping milk at work. Find <a href=\"https:\/\/wicbreastfeeding.fns.usda.gov\/breastfeeding-confidence\"><span class=\"s4\">tips for breastfeeding in public<\/span><\/a> and information on overcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/wicbreastfeeding.fns.usda.gov\/common-breastfeeding-challenges\"><span class=\"s4\">common breastfeeding challenges<\/span><\/a>. WIC offers a <a href=\"https:\/\/wicbreastfeeding.fns.usda.gov\/get-support-wic\"><span class=\"s4\">buddy program, peer counselors, and trained breastfeeding experts<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">Healthy Horizons has a curated list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthyhorizons.com\/blogs\/blog\/welcome-to-workplace-lactation-week-2024-theme-policy-to-practice-making-lactation-support-a-reality?fbclid=IwY2xjawE5onpleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHerQfUAGf3MhW_yjS4d1ozV_gBuRp_fm5slPpudOyewGuPH6pUiFMWC3MA_aem_vSW_QKJ_D4yTpELPDD4Bsw\"><span class=\"s6\">resources related to breastfeeding in the workplace<\/span><\/a>, covering laws and compliance, designing lactation spaces, creating a supportive workplace culture, lactation-friendly policies, and educational workshops. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">MedlinePlus has reliable, easy to understand information for nursing parents. It includes a <a href=\"https:\/\/medlineplus.gov\/breastfeeding.html\"><span class=\"s4\">breastfeeding summary page<\/span><\/a> with links to many related topics, information on <a href=\"http:\/\/overcoming%20breastfeeding%20problems\/\"><span class=\"s4\">overcoming breastfeeding problems<\/span><\/a>, a page on <a href=\"https:\/\/medlineplus.gov\/ency\/patientinstructions\/000631.htm\"><span class=\"s4\">breastfeeding self-care<\/span><\/a>, and a collection of <a href=\"https:\/\/medlineplus.gov\/languages\/breastfeeding.html\"><span class=\"s4\">breast feeding related patient handouts in multiple languages.<\/span><\/a> \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li2\"><span class=\"s1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infantrisk.com\/infantrisk-center-resources\"><span class=\"s4\">Infant Risk Center<\/span><\/a>, out of Texas Tech Health Sciences University has several useful resources\u00a0<\/span><b><\/b>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;padding-left: 15px\"><strong>For healthcare providers:<\/strong> <span class=\"s1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infantrisk.com\/infantrisk-center-resources\"><span class=\"s6\">InfantRisk App<\/span><\/a> offers health care providers fast, convenient access to up-to-date and evidence-based information about prescription and non-prescription medications and their safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;padding-left: 15px\"><b>For nursing parents:<\/b>\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infantrisk.com\/infantrisk-center-resources\"><span class=\"s6\">MommyMeds app<\/span><\/a> allows parents to scan barcodes for over-the-counter medication, search for prescription drugs, and receive up-to-date, easy to understand safety information on their safety while breastfeeding.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: circle;padding-left: 15px\"><strong>For parents AND providers:<\/strong> <span class=\"s8\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.infantrisk.com\/infantrisk-center-resources\"><span class=\"s9\">InfantRisk Call Center<\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> is a free call center for parents or providers, staffed by experienced nurses.
