The Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) has partnered with Glory Girl Productions to present the film, Addict\u2019s Wake<\/em>. The movie shares stories of substance use disorder and treatment told from the survivor\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n

Following a week of virtual film screenings beginning September 19th at 8am CT and ending September 26th at 12pm CT, a panel discussion<\/a> including the film\u2019s director, Lisa Hall, Dr. William Cooke, a community physician and author of Canary in the Coal Mine<\/em>, and Dr. Lynn Anne Witty\u00a0will present a one-hour webinar discussion. They will share their experiences and knowledge for recognizing, diagnosing, and supporting persons with substance use disorders while advocating for advances in prevention and recovery awareness and information for the broad impact of substance-use primarily in small and rural communities. The program also will raise awareness of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and SAMSHA information resources.<\/p>\n
