Graphic Medicine and Region 7: Looking Back, Looking Forward

Over the years, NNLM NER has been a part of supporting a strong New England Graphic Medicine community through educational opportunities, networking and resources. As we continue the transition from the New England Region to Region 7, we continue to build and grow our partnerships and opportunities to provide resources and training that are useful to new and existing Graphic Medicine users.

Now, half way through our first year as NNLM R7, it’s a good time to take stock of our work during the 2016-2021 cooperative agreement and to start to look forward to new projects, new programs and new partnerships coming during the 2021-2026 cooperative agreement.

As we look forward, we want to hear from you about projects, webinars and other ways you want to be involved. Take our 5-minute SURVEY about interest in potential projects to help us start to set priorities.

Where have we been?

What’s continuing? What’s new? And what’s next?

What else can we do?

Get involved with the R7 Graphic Medicine Community of Interest (COI) to help plan future events and training, set R7 Graphic Medicine priorities and more. Priorities, projects and educational opportunities might include webinars and conferences, support for organizations such as networking socials and mentorships, funding and partner spotlights and more.

Thoughts, questions, concerns, reach out to Sarah Levin-Lederer.

And if Graphic Medicine is new to you:

Graphic Medicine is comic books and graphic novels that cover topics of health and wellness.  The visual format makes the information easier to understand and digest.  By reading a personal, non-fiction story, we can learn about issues we may not have experienced ourselves.  These stories can also help us feel less alone in our own lives.
