Climate prep week flyer with a globe and Black woman holding a sign that says "They climate is changing why aren't we?" The right hand side says "Worried about climate change? Find a fee library program near you: climatecrew.org/prep_week September 24th-30th"September is National Preparedness Month! And this year R7 is excited to be a (small) part of Climate Prep Week by sharing the below announcement from partners at CREW and the Blue Marble Librarians.

CPW will be held the final week of September, September 24th-30th. This year, the official theme for Climate Prep Week is “The Planet’s Health and Yours: Facing the Invisible Impacts of Climate Change.” CREW’s own events will focus on some of the hidden impacts of extreme weather and climate change, such as mental health, economic & environmental injustice, and public health. If you are interested in participating this year as an event host, we encourage you to consider how you can weave this theme, and the more invisible effects of climate change, into your own events- but events with all kinds of focuses and themes are welcome!

In case you missed the announcement from CREW, it’s now time to start planning your 2022 Climate Preparedness Week programs. There are many ways to get involved!

How you can participate:

Join CREW as a Partner by advertising the centrally organized events through email or social media.

  • Partners will be recognized on CREW’s website and at the start of our events
  • To sign up as a partner, please fill out the partner form.

Join CREW as Host and hold your own event with and for your community!

Interested but not sure how you’d like to participate or what event you’d like to run?

  • You can let CREW know your interest to start the conversation.
  • To express your interest if you aren’t yet sure you can participate, please fill out the interest form.

Programs will also be shared via the Blue Marble Librarian social media, webpage, and list-serv.

And check CREW’s Climate Prep Week site again in September to find a program to participate in near you.
