On Tue, June 11, 2024, we hosted our annual Hospital Libraries Advisory Group Meeting. Fifty-six people registered for the meeting, and thirty-eight attended the live session. After a presentation on feedback received over the last year from hospital librarians, we talked about our plans for three webinars:

  • DOCLINE Library Groups and FREESHARE (registration below)
  • Impact of Informationists on Patient Care (date TBD)
  • Virtual Library Services for Hospitals (date TBD)

Several attendees told us that Fridays are a good day for them to attend webinars. We send a monthly email to anyone interested in hospital libraries.  If you would like to receive this email, please sign up here.

The recording of the presentation is now available.

DOCLINE Library Groups and FREESHARE

Upcoming webinar! DOCLINE® is the National Library of Medicine’s interlibrary loan (ILL) request routing system. The purpose of the system is to provide efficient document delivery service among DOCLINE member libraries. This webinar will explain the concepts of reciprocal Library Groups in DOCLINE. We will review the guidelines for participating in FREESHARE, the largest no-cost Library Group in DOCLINE. We will review Routing Table tips for Library Group placement.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain how to add, join, or leave a Library Group.
  • Assess if your library meets FREESHARE guidelines.
  • Develop Routing Tables that utilize Library Groups.
