My name is Kimberly Carlo and I am excited to say that I am a Region 7 Consultant as of February 2025. One of my main job duties consist of refining, analyzing and visualizing membership and engagement data for Region 7. I also am participating in the Science Bootcamp for Librarians committee, supporting data and bioinformatics instruction, and contributing to this blog once a month. I previously interned for the National Center for Data Services in the summer of 2024. This internship was my introduction to the Network of the National Library of Medicine, as well as data curation skills. Working with data was something I investigated previously before becoming an Information and Library Science student at the University of Buffalo. Little did I know that data curation was a job duty of some librarians. Learning these skills allowed me to tell stories with data, utilize my organizational skills, and create something accessible to interpret. I am looking forward to continuing to learn from my colleagues and those associated with the NNLM.
