As we approach the last few months of 2025, there are many opportunities for librarians in the Region 7 area to attend and present at upcoming conferences.
UNYOC (Upstate New York and Ontario Chapter of MLA)– This year’s UNYOC conference will be a virtual conference hosted on October 7th-9th, 2025. This year’s theme is “Thrive in 2025: Leadership ~ Development ~ Innovation.” On October 8th, there is a session called “Critical Conversations Continued” that will count towards 3 MLA credits. This will be hosted by Dr. Foster.
NELA (New England Library Association)– This conference is hosted annually to address issues that are relevant to the library community. This year, it will be hosted in Newport, RI at the Newport Marriott Hotel and Spa from October 26th-28th, 2025. The NELA Annual Conference Scholarship is open to applicants with a deadline of September 5th, 2025.
NAHSL (North Atlantic Health Sciences Libraries)- The theme for this year’s NAHSL conference is “Libraries: Promoting Knowledge in an Uncertain World.” This virtual conference will be taking place on October 30th, 2025. There is early bird registration until October 2nd, as well as regular registration that begins on October 3rd and ends on October 24th. The deadline for proposals (paper, lightning talk, and panels) is September 14th, 2025.
NYLA (New York Library Association)– The NYLA Annual Conference will be taking place on November 5th-8th, 2025 at the Saratoga Hilton and City Center in Saratoga Springs, NY. The deadline for registration is September 30th, 2025. This year’s theme is “Actionable Advocacy” and there will be marketing resources for library staff highlighted at this event, as well as many other topics being covered.
