Artificial Intelligence COI for Hospital Librarians in Region 7

Hospital librarians in Region 7 will have the opportunity to join a new Community of Interest (COI) in early 2026. The COI will focus on the practical applications of AI in hospital libraries. Membership will be limited to 30 hospital librarians who work in Region 7 (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont). We will hold an informational meeting on Friday, December 12 at 12:00pm ET. Registration for the informational meeting is available at this link. 

During the informational meeting, we will poll participants to establish future meeting days and times. We will outline potential AI topics. Tools for literature searches, clinical queries, and patient education are especially applicable to a hospital library setting. 

• After the informational meeting, a signup form will be distributed to registrants.
• Membership will be limited to hospital librarians who work in Region 7.
• Registration for the informational meeting is required for participation in the COI.
• The meeting will be recorded for those who cannot attend the live session. 

In future meetings, COI members will be expected to share an AI tool that they use and how they use it. We will create a “Resources for Getting Started” document for distribution to non-members.
