In July 2025, NNLM introduced a national class entitled “Connecting Older Adults to Health Information”. This 90-minute webinar covers websites and data sources to help you respond to requests for health information from and about older adults, as well as covering programming ideas to address the health information needs of older adults.
Older adults currently make up over 17% of the population in the United States and are expected to make up 22% of the population by 2040. With the increasing number of older adults, there is a need for health information and services to meet the needs of older adults. By providing classes like this, we hope to equip libraries, public health professionals, nurses and other health professionals to have the information they need to support older adult health information access.
Some key resources include:
Older Adults: MedlinePlus -Index of health topic pages related to older adults.
Older Adult Health: MedlinePlus-Health topic page provides health information to address a variety of health factors
Health Topics A-Z | National Institute on Aging -Health topic pages to help you learn about healthy aging and common health conditions in older adults
