This will be my last blog post as a member of the team at NNLM Region 7. I am excited about the new adventure ahead, but it is certainly bittersweet to leave behind fulfilling work and amazing colleagues across the Network. I am starting a position with the Connecticut State Library working with the Library for Accessible Books.
As I reflect on my time with NNLM, I am grateful for our supportive, knowledgeable, and talented team here in Region 7. In 2020, I was first introduced to NNLM through my MLIS internship. When an employment opportunity became available in 2021 under the new cooperative agreement, I jumped at the chance to join both this work and this team. I have loved being part of the mission to advance the progress of medicine and improve public health by supporting access to essential health information.
I have also had the opportunity to work on meaningful partnerships with every region, office, and center across NNLM. From the early days, when I was still largely a student, to more recent opportunities to develop new resources and classes, I have loved being part of innovative projects and working together to create deliverables like classes, webinars, the NNLM Reading Club, and more.
The most rewarding part of my tenure with NNLM has been working with dedicated professionals from libraries of all types, health professionals, and community-based programs that serve their communities every day. I have learned so much from each of you, including (but not limited to) our funded partners, colleagues from professional associations, the libraries we have visited through our outreach efforts, both in person and virtually, and all of our NNLM members. Thank you! Your work is so important!
