The e-Science Symposium Planning Committee invites you to submit a proposal for participation at the\u00a010th Annual University of Massachusetts and New England Area Librarian eScience Symposium<\/strong>, to be held on\u00a0Thursday, April 5, 2018<\/strong>\u00a0at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA.<\/p>\n This year’s symposium theme\u00a0\u201cLibraries in Data Science: Past and Future\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0celebrates the 10th anniversary of the e-Science symposium by looking at how far things have come, and focusing on the future of libraries in data science.<\/p>\n We are interested in receiving proposals for presentations, interactive workshops and posters that highlight librarians involved in the four areas listed below. Proposals can focus on the evolution of these topics, current projects, future directions, etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n Proposals should be tied to one of these four categories:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Breakout Sessions<\/strong>: 60-minute presentation or interactive workshop. Selected presenters will receive an honorarium and all travel expenses paid for by the NN\/LM NER. All sessions will be video recorded and featured on the e-Science Symposium website.\u00a0Because there are a limited number of breakout sessions, all presentation and interactive workshop proposals will be considered for a poster presentation.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The deadline for submitting a Breakout Session abstract is\u00a0Friday, February 2, 2018.<\/strong> Poster Session<\/strong>: Awards to the\u00a0Most Informative Poster in Communicating e-Science Librarianship, Poster for Best Example of e-Science in Action,<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Best Poster Overall.<\/em><\/p>\n The deadline for submitting a Poster Session abstract is\u00a0Friday, February 2, 2018.<\/strong> Abstracts must follow the Medical Library Association guidelines for creating a structured abstract, as outlined at\u00a0http:\/\/www.mlanet.org\/page\/structured-abstract<\/a>.<\/p>\n Submission Process<\/strong>: Click on\u00a0Submit Proposal<\/a>\u00a0in the left navigation pane to submit your proposal. The submitting\/corresponding author will need to log in or create a free\u00a0eScholarship@UMMS<\/a>\u00a0account.
