Probably tell myself I am going to exercise, but then gradually rationalize my way out of it over the course of the hour.\u00a0 Assuming I scrap the exercise idea, I would probably use it to practice guitar or try to advance my very novice woodworking skills.<\/p>\n

Tell us about your position\/institution.<\/h4>\n

I work as a medical librarian at Maine Medical Center in beautiful Portland, ME.\u00a0 The medical center is part of the larger MaineHealth organization.\u00a0 I work with a great team in the library.\u00a0 We all get to do a bit of everything which keeps things interesting and engaging.\u00a0 Everything from literature searches and interlibrary loan to instruction and troubleshooting EndNote along with any other special projects that may be in progress.<\/p>\n

What special projects are you working on?<\/h4>\n

I have a few projects in the works including delving into our Digital Commons repository, completing a self-paced course in medical writing in line with plans to expand support of that nature, and a telehealth support related project still in the early stages.<\/p>\n

What National Library of Medicine resource is the most useful to your work, and why?<\/h4>\n

I am in PubMed pretty much every day, even days I am not at work.\u00a0 It is immensely valuable both in my professional capacity as well as for personal information & research.<\/p>\n

What is the coolest thing about your library\/organization\/county\/state?<\/h4>\n

Our library is quite well in-tune with larger institution\u2026credit to our director and team here.\u00a0 I love Portland and Maine.\u00a0 I am new to the area as of February 2021.\u00a0 Portland has such a unique feeling to it.\u00a0 It is a city, but also feels like a college town.\u00a0 Extremely walkable, bike-able, with a great food scene and truly unique independent businesses.\u00a0 It is such a change from my last location.\u00a0 I\u2019ve told people it feels like I moved to a different country.\u00a0 Parts of the city have almost a European feeling.\u00a0 Maine overall is a beautiful state and I still can\u2019t believe I can be at the coast in less the five minutes and in the mountains in an hour or two.<\/p>\n
