In the United States, Black women are three times more likely to die in pregnancy or childbirth than White women Working Together to Reduce Black Maternal Mortality | Health Equity Features | CDC<\/a>.<\/p>\n We would like to highlight some events and resources in the month of April to promote maternal health and Black Maternal Health specifically.<\/p>\n Region 1 is hosting Black Mental Health and Healing Justice: Peer Support<\/a> Training April 5th<\/sup> and April 12th\u2013 The Black Emotion & Mental Health Collective’s\u00a0(BEAM’s),\u00a0Black Mental Health & Healing Justice Peer Support training is a two-day, mental health literacy and healing justice training for people working, living in, and supporting Black communities. To learn more and register.<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Join us for Health in Focus: Black Birth Workers<\/a>–\u00a0 On April 13th<\/sup>, NNLM will be hosting a discussion to hear from a birth worker, Taylor Amari Little,\u00a0 and her client, Destin\u00e9 Price to hear about their experience.
