We’d Love to Learn from You. Teach with MLA!

MLA is looking for passionate educators and subject matter experts to help advance the knowledge and skills of medical librarians and health information professionals. Whether you’re exploring the impact of AI, sharing innovative approaches to instruction, revolutionizing cataloging metadata practices, or helping colleagues develop leadership skills, we’d love to hear your ideas.

Courses should align with MLA’s Core Competencies. We welcome proposals for virtual educational offerings throughout the year and provide honorariums along with full support from the MLA education team.

Here are some topics members have expressed interest in learning more about:

• Information Management: Collection development strategies, resource access and standards, and trends in scholarly communication
• Instruction & Instructional Design: Instructional design best practices, learning theory, and effective educational strategies
• Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Practical applications of AI in health sciences librarianship (academic and non-academic libraries), emerging technologies, research tools.
• Health Information Professionalism: Crucial conversations, lateral leadership, change management, and professional advocacy

The MLA Education: Curriculum Committee reviews all proposals that support MLA’s core competencies.
