Job Opportunities with the Confluencenter for Creative Inquiry

The Confluencenter for Creative Inquiry is currently seeking applicants for two full-time positions.

 

Research Scientist

Salary: $60,000 – $70,000

We are looking for a committed individual who will take lead on projects as requested and see them through to timely conclusion. The Research Scientist will be expected to help design and implement research projects in the humanities and social sciences. This position will require to use personal initiative and independent judgment to plan work and interpret results. A thorough understanding of theoretical concepts is required as tasks will draw upon this type of knowledge and experience. Advanced technical and problem-solving skills will be utilized. The Research Scientists will also be expected to collect and analyze data, assist with writing papers and reports, may lead and/or coordinate the work of other staff, and demonstrate understanding of the principles of research design and methodology. The position will require to take the lead on research grant-making opportunities and analyze them to identify funding sources for specific programs and projects.

Project Manager

Salary: $53,463 – $63,000

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful completion of programs and activities related to the center’s ongoing border storytelling and education project entitled Fronteridades: Nurturing Collaborative Intersections in the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands. This project is a 30-month grant initiative funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The Fronteridades project bridges disciplines, sectors and communities in order to deepen our understanding of the U.S.-Mexico border and to diversify the perspectives and narratives that shape this region. The Project Manager will oversee specific grant activities such as funding competitions, funding disbursal, assessment and reporting, and ongoing engagement with research teams, students, and community partners.
