NNLM Resource Guides

Posted by on April 25th, 2024 Posted in: All Members

Looking to supplement your outreach or training initiatives? NNLM offers comprehensive resource guides aimed at empowering librarians, educators, healthcare professionals, or anyone simply curious about a particular topic. These guides cover a wide range of health-related subjects from health literacy and consumer health information to data management and cultural competency.

Users are encouraged to explore and remix these materials, which are tailored to diverse audiences and learning environments. Whether facilitating workshops on health information literacy, conducting outreach to underserved communities, or integrating health topics into curriculum, the NNLM guides offer actionable guidance and customizable resources to support successful programming initiatives. Here are few examples of what is available:

  • Data Services – A selection of articles and teaching resources for librarians who are interested in offering data services at their institution.
  • Social Determinants of Environmental Health – An accompaniment to the Social Determinants of Environmental Health webinar series, which took place earlier this year. Each session has its own tab with information about the speakers and resources relevant to their presentation.
  • Clinical Conversations Training Program – A guide for clinical trainers or managers to offer brief trainings embedded into regular staff meetings or trainings as a way to offer continuing education.

Many guides link to recordings of NNLM webinars. These professional development opportunities empower individuals to deepen their knowledge and skills in areas either on their own time or as part of your outreach efforts. By harnessing the resources and expertise available via these guides, professionals can elevate their training programs and outreach efforts, ultimately improving health literacy and access to reliable health information for individuals and communities.
