Register Now for the Building Successful Collaborations with Communities Online Course

Interested in cultivating positive partnerships within your library’s community? Register now for our free four-week online course! TheĀ  course runs from September 14, 2023-October 11, 2023. Space is limited to 25 seats.

We will share step-by-step methods and best practices for engaging with communities to co-design and co-develop library offerings. As a participant, you will learn about your community in which your library is located and develop skills to build constructive relationships and bridge cultural differences. You will also gain practical experience with engagement methods and will be able to share your experiences in implementing several stages of engagement.

The course is led by Dr. Ling Hwey Jeng, Director of the Texas Woman’s University School of Library and Information Studies.

Course Objectives
  • Articulate the role of libraries as community anchor institutions for positive changes
  • Apply appreciative inquiry tools for community coalition building
  • Integrate community development tools into project design for desired changes
  • Reflect on their own role as a grassroots leader in facilitating community engagement
Please note: This course is intended for NNLM – Region 4 members (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming); however, if you reside outside of the aforementioned states and are interested in registering, please contact John Bramble, Executive Director of NNLM – Region 4.
