May 12th, 2022 is our next scheduled NNLM R4 Connections meeting. The meeting will take place at 11:00 AM MST

We are excited to have guest speaker Jaena Alabi. She will be talking to us about “Racial microaggressions: Their effects on mental and physical health.”

Here is a little bit about her talk:

In this session, guest speaker Jaena Alabi will present a brief history of racial microaggressions research, focusing on the negative mental and physical health outcomes associated with experiencing subtle racism.  Strategies for mitigating the negative effects of racial microaggressions, such as incorporating cultural competence into one’s practice of librarianship, will also be shared.

We look forward to seeing you there.

The presentation will be 30 minutes long allowing 30 minutes at the end for questions and open discussion.
