Community Colleges: Making your Campus Smoke Free

Posted by on July 1st, 2015 Posted in: Funding

Legacy, an organization established in 1999 as part of the settlement agreement between major tobacco companies and 46 U.S. states, funds the “Kick Start Your Smoke-Free Campus Initiative.” With enrollment of 13 million students, community colleges educate many people of color, low-come, and first generation college students. These populations suffer disproportionately from tobacco use and secondhand smoke consequences. Legacy is offering grants of up to $5,000 each to public community colleges to support their efforts to implement a smoke-free campus. See details at: http://www.legacyforhealth.org/CCIgrant.
