How can I stay up to date on Region 5 activities?
The weekly digest is a great way to stay informed about Region 5 activities and learn about other initiatives in the world of health information access. If you are a member of Region 5, you are automatically signed up to receive these emails. You can also follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Do you offer one-on-one training sessions?
The short answer is, it depends. If you’re interested in a one-on-one training session for your team or department, please contact us and we can talk about what you’re interested in and if it fits the scope of what we can provide.
Where can I find information on upcoming classes?
You can find this information on the NNLM website! You will also see updates about upcoming classes on our blog, weekly digest, and social media.
How do I apply for funding?
First, review the open funding opportunities on the Region 5 website and decide if your project fits the scope. Then, send us a letter of interest, and we will follow up with you to discuss your idea and how to craft your proposal to meet the rubric requirements. The proposal is your chance to show us how your project is innovative and effective and will meet an identified health information need.
After you submit your proposal, it is reviewed by two people, someone from Region 5 and a Region 5 external partner, who make a recommendation about the strength of the proposal based on the rubric. If you have any questions about funding at any point in the process, we are more than happy to support you, so please reach out!
How can I promote NLM resources at my library?
You can request printed materials like bookmarks and brochures, which will be mailed to you free of charge. There are also digital links and images you can use on your website to promote NLM resources. If you have the capacity, the NLM Traveling Exhibits can be a fun way to promote NLM resources while exploring an interesting piece of medical history. Each exhibit also includes an online exhibition that can be shared with library users for free!
