Loansome Doc Passwords

Posted by on August 5th, 2005 Posted in: Resource Sharing & Document Delivery

Loansome Doc Libraries,

Here are some suggestions for patrons encountering issues with the password reset feature in Loansome Doc:

1. User didn’t receive email with new password

Have patron check their SPAM or Junk Mail folder. Some email systems are directing email from the “Loansomedoc at nlm.nih.gov” account to these folders. Please note that email should not be sent to this address as the mailbox is not monitored.

Verify email address in patron record. Check for typos, out-dated email address. Modify email address as necessary and click Update. Then click
Reset Password to send patron another new password.

2. New password doesn’t work

Make sure patron is copying and pasting password – it is easy to mistype the system generated passwords. New passwords created are CASE-SENSITIVE. If patron did password reset more than once, be sure they are using the password in the last message sent to them.

To review patron records:
In DOCLINE, click Loansome Doc Patrons. Search by patron name, or other data element. Click user name in search results to view full record. See DOCLINE help for more information about Managing Loansome Doc Patrons.

There is a link to Loansome Doc FAQs on the Login page
(https://docline.gov/loansome/login.cfm) and at the top right of each
Loansome Doc system page.
