PNR Rendezvous, ClinicalTrials.gov

Posted by on December 7th, 2015 Posted in: News From NNLM PNR, Public Health, Training & Education

Date: Wednesday, December 16

Time: 1:00pm Pacific Time, Noon Alaska Time, 2:00pm Mountain Time

Join us next week when NN/LM PNR Community Health Outreach Coordinator, Emily Glenn, presents information regarding ClinicalTrials.gov. ClinicalTrials.gov is the openly available federal registry and results database of publicly and privately funded clinical studies conducted in the United States and around the world. The registry and results database are vital resource for researchers, healthcare providers, and health sciences librarians who wish to consult the entire body of evidence on any particular topic. This presentation will provide an overview of the information in ClinicalTrials.gov, drawing from records for trials involving mobile apps, plus an update of policies and laws that impact clinical trials. You will gain a basic understanding of how ClinicalTrials.gov records can be part of the landscape of research evidence when considering the effectiveness of an intervention.

To attend go to http://webmeeting.nih.gov/rendezvous and login as a Guest, using your own name. Once logged into the web meeting, a pop-up box allows you to put in your phone number and the program will call you.  If this does not happen, just call the 800 number and use the participant code that appears in the Notes box on the screen.

If you are unable to tune in live, we invite you to view a recording of the webcast, posted on the Rendezvous website later.

The PNR Rendezvous webcast sessions are eligible for 1 hour of Medical Library Association continuing education (MLA CE) for attending the webcast or listening to the recording.  A brief online evaluation form link will be offered at a website that is provided during the end of the webcast.  Upon completion of the survey, you will be able to download the certificate.

As part of our Federal agency services regarding electronic and information technology resources being accessible to people with disabilities, closed captioning is available on this and future PNR Rendezvous webcasts.
