Welcome to the Region 5 Team, Kathryn Vela!

headshot of Kathryn Vela, Region 5 Executive DirectorPlease join us in extending a warm welcome to Kathryn Vela in her role as Region 5’s new Executive Director. She joined the Region 5 team on Monday, April 8th, and we are so pleased to have her on our team!

Kathryn comes to NNLM Region 5 from St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise, ID, where she worked as a medical librarian. Kathryn is a longtime collaborator with the NNLM. She received funding from NNLM while a librarian at Washington State University, Spokane and at St. Luke’s. She’s involved in the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Medical Library Association. In her free time, she enjoys going on long runs, reading, and relaxing with her family.
