Welcome to Midwest Matters!

Posted by on May 4th, 2017 Posted in: Blog, From the GMR, Funding, Outreach, Public Health

Welcome to the refurbished GMR blog!

Midwest Matters will feature news from the GMR Office, health news highlights, and even guest posts from some of our awardees. Our hope is that this blog will help our members stay connected to health news, provide updates about National Library of Medicine programs and products, and help our members dream up ideas for health information outreach projects.

Don’t know much about our awards? Check out the funding page on our website for detailed information about all the funding opportunities for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.

  • Emergency Preparedness Award
  • Express Outreach Award
  • NNLM Emerging Trends Award
  • Outreach Award
  • Professional Development Award
  • Public Library Outreach Award
  • Technology Enhancement Award

We’re currently accepting applications for all of the above categories and will continue to award applicants all year or until all of our funding is exhausted.

If you have any questions about funding, please don’t hesitate to contact us. You can call us at (319) 353-4479, email us at gmr-lib@uiowa.edu, or simply comment on this blog post! Unsure of which category your project idea fits into? We’d love to hear your ideas and we can even help guide you through the application process.

Lastly, if there’s any type of content you’d like to see on our brand new blog, please let us know. We want to make this blog a useful tool for our members.
