Perhaps you spotted the recent changes NLM made to the way it displays disclaimer information in their products like PubMed and PubMed Central? These changes were made to help clarify NLM’s relationship to the content it collects and archives.
The disclaimer pages, like this one for PubMed, were added in 2021 and the content of the disclaimer has not changed since then. Several updates related to the display of this type of information in PMC were made last spring, and you can find more information in this NCBI Insights blog post.
Ater monitoring the usage and feedback about these updates in PubMed Central, NLM added a link to the disclaimer below all PubMed abstracts earlier this month.
PubMed’s social media share graphic was updated at that time, as well.
Bookshelf has the disclaimer link in the top right corner of each page, and PubMed Central has a new disclaimer box at the top of every page.
If you or your patrons have questions or feedback about these updates, please let us know.
