Region 6 welcomes Stefania Acosta Ramirez

Stefania Acosta Ramirez joins Region 6 as Consumer Health Information Coordinator. In this role, Stefania will engage individuals and organizations across the region in health information access and digital health literacy programs. She brings community engagement expertise from her previous role as Science Communications and Engagement Specialist with the former National All of Us Program Center where she collaborated with public libraries nationwide to enhance health literacy, research literacy, and participatory science. Stefania is committed to engaging Spanish and Portuguese-speaking audiences to promote trustworthy health information and research within multilingual communities. Stefania has a Master in Humanistic Studies from the Universidad EAFIT, Medellín, Columbia and a Bachelors in Communications from the Universidad de Anioquia, Medellín, Columbia.

Darlene Kaskie, M.L.S. is Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist for Region 6 of the Network of the National Library of Medicine. She connects communities to training, engagement, and funding to improve access to health information and NLM Resources such as MedlinePlus. Advancing health literacy and digital skills training helps people make informed decisions about their health. She earned her Consumer Health Information Specialization (CHIS) from the Medical Library Association.
