Please join me in congratulating Michelle Eberle as she prepares for the next phase of her career. Michelle has accepted a Consultant position with the Massachusetts Library System. Her last day at the NN/LM NER is August 19th. It was in September of 2003, when Michelle joined the NN/LM NER as the Consumer Health Information Coordinator. Her major accomplishments include playing key roles carrying out the national NN/LM public library and K-12 initiatives, the NER’s Focused Outreach project, and the Healthy Communities and Health Literacy Communities of Interest. Michelle built relationships for the NN/LM NER with State Libraries and Regional Library Systems in all six New England states. She conducted numerous NLM train-the-trainers for funded projects and monitored funded project reporting to the NN/LM Online Contract Reports System. Michelle presented to librarians, public health professionals, healthcare providers, educators and the public on a variety of topics including National Library of Medicine resources, health literacy, and grant/proposal writing. She designed content for the NER website and published NLM updates in the NER blog and Weekly Update. She will be greatly missed throughout the region and in the NER office. Please join me in wishing her much success in her new role.
