NER Staff Update: New Education and Outreach Coordinator

Please join me in welcoming Susan Halpin, MA to the NN/LM New England Region. Susan began on August 22 and will be working as an Education and Outreach Coordinator. Prior to working in the NER, Susan worked as a Program Coordinator at the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute Organizational Development and Learning Solutions Business Unit for the past year. While in that position Susan worked with Massachusetts Department of Public Health, specifically, the Massachusetts Cancer Control and Prevention Network (MCCPN). She was responsible for the convening and administration of several cancer-related work groups comprised of doctors and researchers who meet regularly to work on selected initiatives from the Massachusetts state cancer plan; specifically supporting the Palliative Care, Lung Cancer, and the HPV/Cervical Cancer work groups, as well as the Massachusetts Dental HPV Prevention Task Force. Prior to Donahue Institute, Susan taught nutrition and wellness at the Algonquin Regional High School, Northborough, MA for nine years. We are excited that Susan also has a history of community engagement and project management skills. Susan earned a BS in Family and Consumer Science and a MA in Education from Framingham State University in Massachusetts.
