NNLM Region 7 is continuously learning and growing and we do this best when members share with us what is going on in their work. This helps us to highlight the amazing work happening in the region and helps us learn about needs and gaps in services.
Some common themes we are hearing from libraries and others are an interest in telehealth, concerns about Broadband and health care access for patrons, information literacy and evaluating online information, health inequity and social determinants of health, finding health information resources in multiple languages and supporting immigrant populations, supporting caregivers, community partnerships, and aging in place.
Many communities also mention concerns about mental illness, substance misuse, social isolation, lack of healthy food, and social service needs such as housing. Other areas of interest are climate change and environmental health.
We are also learning about amazing partnerships and programs which are serving communities, such as programs that introduce students to the medical field, wellness series, health screenings, and programs to support access to healthy food! We try to highlight a few of these in our blogs and newsletter, but there are so many more!
Would you like to meet with us to talk about something special happening at your institution or other cool programs you know about? Do you have ideas. Are their topics you would like to discuss with peers? Feel free to fill in a quick contact form to let us know how we can be of help.
You can email us: nnlm-region7@umassmed.edu or fill out a form: Region 7 (google.com)
We look forward to hearing from you!
