History of the Rochester Study Webinar Results

Region 7 had 162 librarians register for The History of the Rochester Study webinar on January 12, 2023. Ninety-one registrants participated in the live event. The chat discussion was lively, creating 16 pages of commentary that was saved and distributed to the registrants and on the Hospital Library Caucus listserv. We had 39 participants fill out the evaluation form. In response to the question “how will you use this training”, participants stated the following:

• Thinking about how medical libraries have changed over the years and what it means for the future.
• Create a simple post-library service feedback loop for users to reflect on how they applied the information and/or services from the library to improve patient care.
• I will use this training when evaluating our services and thinking of ways to improve and enhance our services to support our clinicians and staff.
• I will reflect upon my services and evaluate/brainstorm new and/or expanded roles within the medical library’s service menu at my hospital.
• I plan to read the three articles more thoroughly and use them and this webinar to analyze whether there are tactics, tools, etc. we should be considering to secure the stable future of our medical library moving forward.
