Resources You Can Use: Winter Weather

Previously, I highlighted tips to stay safe in winter weather focused on snow, cold and ice. But according to the Fifth National Climate Assessment, released in November 2023, the Northeast is looking at warmer, wetter winters in the future. So in addition to remembering safety information for staying safe in snow and cold, we need to remember how to stay safe during floods and power outages.

Flood Safety Resources

Don't underestimate the power of water! NOAA logo in the top right hand corner. Staying Safe When the Power is Out

Winter weather, whether it’s ice and snow or rain and wind, brings the possibility of power outages. Power outages can lead to multiple hazards including fire (candles), improper use of generators and food safety. Learn more with these resources:
