A big shoutout to medical librarians this October. In urban and rural hospitals, solo and in teams, medical librarians work tirelessly to access quality health information for the people that they serve. The Medical Library Association is offering puzzle piece marketing that librarians can add to their email signatures. Sorting through AI -generated content is part of the suite of services that medical librarians currently provide. Check out all the puzzle pieces. Maybe one will work for you?
This year, we celebrated four medical librarians in our podcast. The podcast expands on Region 7 blog interviews with Jill (Tarabula) Daby (NY) Chloe Rotman (MA), Tim Kenny (ME), and Anne Romano (CT). Their stories remind us that, even in a world of instantly accessible information, librarians serve an important role. Clinicians are able to focus their time on caring for patients rather than refining searches of medical literature.
Catch up on our Region 7 visits to hospital librarians with Spotlights on Jessie Casella (VT) and Amanda Richman (RI). Each librarian provides unique services to their user population. We are scheduled to spotlight Karen Goodman (NH) later this year.
We hope to see you virtually at NAHSL and in-person at UNYOC. Region 7 will be presenting on the history of medical librarianship. The presentation will discuss historic changes in federal requirements, information access, aspects of care as well as commentary from librarians on future research directions. Join us!
