About

The National Evaluation Center (NEC) develops and enhances best-practice evaluation strategies and resources for the NNLM. We collaborate with the RMLs and Offices to develop standardized processes and robust integrated visualization and reporting tools and data for evaluation and communication of program activities and outcomes.

Our approach to best-practice evaluation strategies incorporates many initiatives, including:

  • Managing the Evaluation Working Group (EWG) for maximum collaboration with Evaluation Champions throughout the NNLM
  • The Evaluation Toolbox
  • Common Metrics Initiative
  • Connecting program-level evaluation with national logic models
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP) of free-text evaluation data
  • Capacity building with local institutions and groups
  • A robust online repository of evaluation resources
  • Dissemination in Action trainings series
  • Data Visualization Challenge
