We are pleased to share exciting news from the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) Region 6. After nearly a year of uncertainty about our program’s future, we and our NNLM colleagues across the network are excited to share that we have secured additional funding through an administrative supplement from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM). This support will enable us to continue our work through April 30, 2027.
During this extended funding period, Region 6 will remain committed to serving our members by offering training and outreach activities. While we will be operating with a reduced staff, we are dedicated to maintaining the quality and impact of our programs.
As far as the future of the Region 6 program after April 30, 2027; we are still awaiting the release of the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) that will permit us to apply for the next cooperative agreement; we anticipate this will be released in Fall 2026.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at region6-rml@uiowa.edu. Be sure to follow us on social media and subscribe to the Weekly Digest, if you don’t already. We will be sharing additional updates through these channels over the coming months.
