MeSH Changes and PubMed Searches 2022

Posted by on December 22nd, 2021 Posted in: Blog, Education and Outreach, NNLM Class

Every year, the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) are updated. How does this affect your PubMed searches? What happens when a term gets changed, added, removed or moved to a different part of the MeSH hierarchy? How do you accommodate vocabulary changes over time in your comprehensive searches? How do you check your saved searches and alerts?

Join the NNLM to learn more about the annual changes made to MeSH and how they can impact your saved searches in PubMed.

Objectives:

Successful participants will be able to:

  • Describe how the MeSH vocabulary is maintained
  • Explain how the addition, revision, deletion and rearrangement of MeSH terms affect your PubMed searches
  • Check your saved searches and alerts for needed changes

The NNLM webinar is scheduled for January 14th, 1:00 – 2:00 pm EST.   The class qualifies for continuing education credit through the Medical Library Association.  Please register for the class at MeSH Changes and PubMed Searches 2022
