New Access to Clinical Lab Standards (eCLIPSE)

Posted by on May 6th, 2025 Posted in: Blog

This information is time sensitive. Users should act before May 28, 2025.

eCLIPSE Banner from CLSI

Starting June 1st 2025, CLSI will require users to individually register to receive a login to eCLIPSE. The registration process for the login will be handled through an online form CLSI is providing.

The form is available at https://nnlm.gov/RegisterForCLSI

Unfortunately, eCLIPSE is not compatible with our access system (OpenAthens) for which users can access the rest of the PHDL resources.

This resource is primarily used by clinical laboratory people and available through the PHDL to state public health departments only.  eCLIPSE is the compendium of standards and methods used by laboratories throughout the country.  Access to the standards monographs is controlled  by CLSI and not available through our regular login tool (OpenAthens).

Current and new users must use the link provided to register for an individual login.  For CLSI users not captured during this interim period, the online form will remain available for new users; the turnaround time for receiving a login will be about a week.

Here are more details:

  • CLSI will issue users who register login credentials to eCLIPSE.
  • May 28th is the latest to get your form in to use your login by June 1.
  • The current login credentials will work through May 30, at which time they will be turned off and access will only be through registered logins.
  • After June 1st, users who are not registered during this interim period, will have to register and wait to receive their credentials before being able to use eCLIPSE.

To have continued access after June 1st, please use this link (https://nnlm.gov/RegisterForCLSI) to register for an eCLIPSE login.

Please feel free to contact us at phdl@umassmed.edu with questions about this new login process.
